I just saw the channel 12 piece for the first time. I want to appologize to those who saw their stuff on TV. I had specifically told them not to use your photos, and they agreed. I did tell them that if they wanted to use it, they would have to contact you guys and get permission. I am very sorry they did not do so. If anyone has any questions about your work, I will definately send them to you. I in no way wanted to steal any of your "Thunder" for the works that you all have done. I do appreciate all the great work you all do.
The interview lasted almost an hour and I talked about the team efforts and how great everyone has been, but unfortunately that got chopped. There was less than two full minutes out of the entire interview used, and I did not get to see the piece before it aired, I had no final say in what thay used. It was a complete surprise to me that your photos got put into the story. Again, please forgive me.
Please keep in mind that it was I who brought you to the area. You all used my knowledge to get what you wanted. It does not justify your pictures being shown, but with out me you would have never got the pictures in the first place. My appologies.
So in reality, you don't owe me anything.
As for the other, that's not mine, so I have absolutely NO say in it.
That person is out of town for a week.
And this is why we all should remain as careful as we can when discussing anything with the media.
In the piece from earlier, I forgot the newspapers name, but they used a funky fisheye lens that I saw, as making you all look goofy or kookie.
I learned from this, bigtime!
And this is why my media stays with me, until its been given to the most of credible of people.
These 2 dollar tv channels aren't worth the effort.
That's my take on it.
But its a very strong learning point. Atleast for me it is.
And I know that I've just gotten out of a scuffle of words with people like mary, and this is exactly why.
I just don't trust anybody out there yet, except for a few real deal organizations.
The news channels in town, especially now, are looking for seasonal stories.
And they'll only be used to grab a few eyes and ears.
Nothing worth writing home about.
So, that's all that I'll say about it.
I do not think it did any harm, I believe the image in the photo is a pine tree anyway. We have photos and evidence from all over the state, the area described in the piece on the news is just one of the many areas being looked into by us. Yes, you did initially start the recent interest in the area I don't think there is any dispute in that. But I would like to point out that everything we have done in the area has been totally on our own. If somebody goes up to bluff creek and gets something I don't think Gimlin would have too much tie in to it.
Again, no harm no foul.
